Segway on Q (formerly Segway on Queenstown) is more than an abbreviation. With the need for more environmentally friendly forms of transport, this Segway really is right on cue. By offering fun experiences on these amazing self-balancing machines, Segway on Q is introducing to many a more sustainable choice of travel.
Segway on Q was founded in 2006 by Kevin Hey with the support of his wife Joanne. Kevin, a Kiwi, is in charge of operations while Jo, from England, helps out with the bookings. Tim Highley is responsible for operations when Kevin's not.

"When considering suitable lines of work, I can’t think of anything better. I love new ideas and the Segway is a revolutionary and remarkable piece of engineering. Offering Segway tours is a bit like sharing your toys for a living. People love the experience of riding the Segways and the level of customer satisfaction provides an extremely positive work environment. I get to meet people from all over the world and being a hands-on experience, you get a real range of abilities and personalities which adds variety to your work. Queenstown has a huge range of activity operators but while most have to watch everybody else have the fun, I get to ride a Segway too. Like any business it has plenty of challenges, but that just makes it all the more interesting."
